This Privacy Policy describes how Royal Society of Players, LLC (“RSOP”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use this website (https://www.royalsociety.io/) (the “Website”), participate in our community features such as staking, teams, leaderboards, and community games, and/or interact with our community Discord server and our Discord bot (the “RSOP Bot”) (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into, and forms part of, our Terms & Conditions.

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

SECTION I
Information We Collect
  1. Wallet Information. When you connect a cryptocurrency wallet (e.g. MetaMask) to the Website, we collect your public wallet address. We may also read publicly available blockchain data associated with your wallet address, such as the NFTs you own, staking activity, and transaction history relating to our smart contracts. We never collect, request, or have access to your private keys or seed phrase.
  2. Signed Messages. To authenticate certain actions (such as logging in, staking, or voting), you may be asked to sign a message with your wallet. We collect the signed message and use it solely to verify that you control the wallet address in question.
  3. Discord Information. If you link your Discord account to your wallet via our verification process, or if you interact with the RSOP Bot, we collect your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. If you participate in community games run by the RSOP Bot (such as Hand of the Day), we also collect a record of your participation, your submitted hands and game results, and any rewards earned. The RSOP Bot only processes Discord messages that begin with its command prefix in designated game channels; it does not read, store, or log the content of any other messages, and no message content data is used to train machine learning or AI models.
  4. Server Membership Data. To keep Discord roles in sync with verified NFT ownership, the RSOP Bot may look up your membership in our Discord server and the roles assigned to you, and may add or remove roles based on your verified holdings and team membership.
  5. Usage Data and Cookies. Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect standard technical information when you visit the Website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, and may use cookies or similar technologies (such as browser local storage) to keep you logged in and remember your preferences.
  6. Information You Provide. If you contact us directly (for example by email), we will receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
SECTION II
How We Use Your Information
  1. To provide and operate the Services, including staking, teams, leaderboards, voting, member portals, and community games.
  2. To verify your ownership of NFTs and link your wallet address to your Discord account, so that we can assign and maintain the correct Discord roles and channel access based on your verified holdings.
  3. To run community games (such as Hand of the Day), determine results, and distribute rewards to participants.
  4. To maintain the security and integrity of the Services, including preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  5. To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  6. To comply with applicable legal obligations.
SECTION III
What We Do Not Do
  1. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
  2. We do not store the content of your Discord messages. The RSOP Bot only inspects messages to detect its command prefix; command messages are processed and then deleted, and all other messages are ignored.
  3. We do not use any data collected through the Services to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
  4. We do not collect or have access to your wallet private keys, seed phrases, or funds.
SECTION IV
How We Share Your Information
  1. Service Providers. We use third-party service providers to help us operate the Services, such as blockchain infrastructure providers (e.g. Alchemy, Infura) that we use to read blockchain data, and hosting providers. These providers process data on our behalf as needed to provide their services.
  2. Discord. Interactions with the RSOP Bot and our Discord server are also governed by Discord’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.
  3. Public Blockchain Data. Please note that your wallet address and your on-chain activity (including NFT ownership, staking transactions, and transfers) are publicly visible on the blockchain by design. This is inherent to how blockchains work and is not something we control. Certain features of the Services, such as leaderboards and game results, may publicly display your wallet address, linked Discord username, and/or team affiliation.
  4. Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of our users.
SECTION V
Data Retention and Your Choices
  1. We retain the information described in this Privacy Policy for as long as it is needed to provide the Services, including keeping your Discord roles in sync with your holdings and maintaining historical game and reward records.
  2. You may disconnect your wallet from the Website at any time via your wallet software.
  3. You may stop using the RSOP Bot at any time; the bot only processes messages you voluntarily direct at it using its command prefix.
  4. If you would like us to unlink your Discord account from your wallet address, or to request deletion of personal information we hold about you, please contact us at the address in Section IX. Note that we cannot delete or alter data recorded on a public blockchain.
SECTION VI
Security
  1. We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
SECTION VII
Children
  1. The Services are not directed to children. As set out in our Terms & Conditions, you must be at least 18 years old to participate in the Offering and use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
SECTION VIII
Changes to This Privacy Policy
  1. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last Modified” date at the top. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
